Satou sensei hugs or molests Run chan

Sato-molester has no pants on in this picture.

A little dash of delinquency with some slice of life sprinkled on top is what the chef has cooking on this week’s A-Channel. There also seemed to be some strange plot discrepancies as well, none of which were serious enough to drag down an otherwise good episode.

Tooru filler.

The first weird plot thing takes place right away when Run notices Tooru’s bangs have grown during summer break. She then proceeds to take a little more off the top than she should have, however it doesn’t matter because when the school segment begins Tooru’s hair is back to normal. I do like how the overly logical Tooru suspends all rationale when Run does something for her, in this case styling her hair into “matching” styles.

They all end up going to school for some mid-summer school life stuff. On their way Run and Tooru bump into Lester Sato-sensei, who makes his first of a few funny appearances. There are some hot weather gags and Yuuko overacts to stuff, like normal. Yuuko shares several personality traits with Mio from K-On!, but is maybe slightly dim-witted or as I like to call it, my type.

Winner of this week's, "Which of these screenshots doesn't fit in" award!

After forgetting a form during the day Yuuko enlists Nagi to come to school with her to retrieve it. I understand there has to be a reason why they all end up at school after hours, but are there no copy machines on which Yuuko could have xeroxed Nagi’s form? Or perhaps with Japan’s futuristic technology they forgot how to scan and print. Whatever the reason, Nagi agrees to help, calls up the gang and the four meet at the high school.

Yuuko Tooru Run decide to explore school

"All in favor of high school vandalism. say hai!"

All I could think this entire segment was how weird it was that they were wearing their school uniforms. Yuuko and Nagi were in casual clothes and they changed into their uniforms at night to break into school? So strange. The comedy begins, however, as the four break and enter the school and explore the grounds.

They all have good times, which they’ll obvious remember all their lives because that’s what high school is all about. We should come up with a point system for how to grade the quality of our high school lives. Anyways, the girls go home and we get a brief scene of the easily frightened Yuuko.

My first caption, "Yuuko--My sweet angel" was too creepy, so how about, "Yuuko bearing it".

Thoughts & Feelings:

The breaking into school stuff was fun. Especially when they end up spraying profanity all over the place, backing up all the toilets and committing general vandalism. Ha ha, they don’t do those things, but they would have if they were real delinquents. Possibly a good idea for a spin-off called D-Channel. I would watch it.

Overall a good episode after the pure fan service of the previous week. I think it’s the stronger slice of life elements that could make this show a bit more memorable. Next week also looks like a another fun summer episode, taking place outside of school complete with karaoke! See you next week A-Fans! Wait, was that too creepy also?

  1. After seeing the bear in the last scene I’m convinced I typed /cutemode before watching this series.

Having watched many months worth of anime I consider myself an expert on the placement and availability of print services in Japan and can confidently say there were at least 7 convenience stores with a basic copier available as alternatives to breaking and entering.

Got fuck all on the uniform thing though.
