Astarotte no Omocha is the tale of an adolescent succubus seeking to avoid her inherited destiny of having to collect a stable of men to milk. It’s totally not wrong though because she’s basically a penis vampire and if she doesn’t do it she’ll probably die or something.
Thoughts:
There’s fan-service a plenty to be had here but, surprisingly, not nearly as much as you’d expect. Sure half the episode takes place in a bath. Sure the main loli spends the entire bath scene holding a giant banana. It’s played pretty innocently overall. To-Love-Ru was dirtier by a mile. It’s possible future episodes will ramp up the raunch. Especially since the ordinary school age male foil wasn’t introduced until the very end.
Animation and character designs were mediocre. Comedy was nothing an avid anime watcher hasn’t seen before. I’m not sorry I watched Astarotte no Omocha but I’m not in a big hurry to get to the next one.
This is a show you’ll know is or isn’t for you immediately. Go with your gut.
